Georgia Florida Football
Do you like Georgia Florida football? Because the Georgia Bulldogs will play against the Florida Gators on Saturday, October 27th at 3:30 PM. Per a long-standing tradition, the city of Jacksonville will host the two teams. Georgia fans will flock to the coast, and they have Georgia on their minds. So many prefer to stay on Jekyll Island and St. Simons Island for the weekend. The turnoff for Jekyll on I-95 is only 29 miles from the Florida state line. That makes travel down to Jacksonville for the game quite doable. There are even buses that make the trip a bit easier. It’s a great option for avoiding the crowded parking lots. And it allows everyone to have a drink without the worry of the drive home.
Jekyll Island will host a GA/FL Golf Tournament and a Georgia Tailgating Party. Jekyll is a great place for Georgia alums to visit any time. But with Georgia football fever is in the air, this weekend is especially good. If you prefer to avoid the crowded Jacksonville football stadium, you can watch the game on Jekyll Sandpiper’s 65-inch TV or visit the Wee Pub Beach, our local sports bar.
Families will appreciate the time to gather. And since there are so many other activities to explore, even those a bit less interested in football will have a great time. Perhaps a few family members will attend the game while others visit the beach or take a morning bike ride before putting the game up on the TV.
Sports-event-themed gatherings are a great excuse to head to Jekyll. NCAA College football and the NFL (National Football League) will provide entertainment for the Fall weekends, but that’s not all. You can also watch NCAA College basketball, NBA basketball, and Premier League Soccer. Gather up a few friends, watch your favorite teams, grill a steak, and munch on those game day snacks. The beach promises to make your game day even better.
