Miniature Golf and Public Playground on Jekyll Island

Miniature Golf - Jekyll Island
Miniature Golf

If you’re planning a beach vacation, access to miniature golf might not be the top item on your list. But it’s a great activity for kids and adults alike to add to your vacation enjoyment. Both the miniature golf and playground are always filled with smiling people. One day after spending time on the beach or just before dinner, head down the street for an hour of fun.

Jekyll Mini Golf is located on Beachview Drive at Shell Road, just down from Great Dunes Pavilion. They have two 18 hole golf courses, one for beginners and the other somewhat more advanced. Many of the obstacle figures are new and represent the locality, such as a small Faith’s Chapel and a Georgia Bulldog. They open at 9 AM everyday, with an 8 M closing time, except on Friday and Saturday when they close at 10 pm.  The cost is $6.50 for adults and $5 for children.

Playground

After a round of golf, save some time for the playground.  Your kids will enjoy playing on the equipment, which includes several slides, places to climb, overhead bars, and swings of several sizes. There are actually two playgrounds, one for younger kids and a second for those a bit older, with nice benches scattered around for the adults. The playground is open to the public at no charge, so stop by whenever the kids need to use up a bit of energy.

Dining

If you are hungry, you will find Red Bug Motor’s Pizza and Pub in the same little complex as the Mini Golf and Playground. Look for our review of this restaurant. It is nice informal pizza joint.
