A Water Park with a View
A water park surrounded by trees and salt water marsh, Summer Waves offers a view of the Jekyll River and more salt water marsh beyond. Fun for all ages. Your entire family will enjoy a day cooling off at this attraction.
For adults and older kids, there are three different types of slides, a wave pool, a splash zone, and a lazy river. Shark Tooth Cove is for the little guys, with 360 degree seating so parents can easily watch their children. It features a small scale set of slides just their size. Visitors report that the lifeguards are plentiful and friendly and enjoy interacting with park guests. The park usually has a manageable number of people, making the lines short or often totally non-existent, especially during the week. Parking is free and convenient.
The park offers food provided by Larry’s Giant Subs, with menu items of subs, salads, hot dogs, and ice cream treats. But you can also leave the park during your stay to eat in the outside picnic area or to visit other island restaurants. A Surf Shop is available if you forget something. Its offerings include sunscreen, swimsuits, and Summer Waves souvenirs.
Pricing and Specials
General admission is $22, with a junior admission of $19 for kids under 48″ tall. Seniors 60 and older can visit for $11, and children 3 and under are free. They offer a military discount with ID. Summer Waves is a smaller park, so we recommend the afternoon special, called the Night Splash. Rates on this special can vary, but they range from $13 – 15 per person. It is available Monday – Friday beginning at 3 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday beginning at 4 p.m. Groupon often offers discounts and coupons for Summer Waves. In 2108, for example, you could get a Monday – Friday pass for $17. The park is open from just before Memorial Day to just after Labor Day.
