High Definition Televisions
Sandpiper has four flat screen, high definition televisions. The upstairs family room has a 65″ TV, and the screened-in porch has a 58″ one. There are smaller flat screen TV’s in both the downstairs family room and the bunk room.
Get the Full Screen
We provide a high definition (HD) feed to all four televisions. We’ve noticed that sometimes our guests see a picture that doesn’t fill the screen and try to make adjustments to the TV. Please don’t try to make such changes because the real culprit is tuning the television to a non-HD channel. The HD channels are higher numbered ones, typically in the 300’s and up. If you use the “guide” key on the remote, the channel name will typically end in HD.
We try to keep Comcast TV listings near the family room televisions, though they tend to move or disappear. If you can’t find one, try checking online here.
The two upstairs televisions have Chromecast devices. To cast a service like Netflix, simply press the remote control’s TV Input button until you select Chromecast. Then cast to either Family Room TV or Porch TV.
Watching a DVD
The upstairs and downstairs family room televisions each have a DVD player. If you want to watch a movie, you might check out the large collection of DVD’s on a shelf near the upstairs family room television. Or bring your own! To watch a DVD, use the TV Input button on the TV remote to select the DVD connection. For the downstairs DVD player, choose HDMI2. The cable feed there is HDMI1. Upstairs, you will see the more obvious names of DVD and Cable Box.
The downstairs DVD player has its own remote control. The upstairs DVD remote has disappeared, but you can control it with the buttons on the player.
