Day Camp from Turtle Tides – A Jekyll Island Activity Sampler

Turtle Tides Day Camp on Jekyll Island
Day Camp

Turtle Tides Jekyll Rentals & Tours is offering a day camp filled with outdoor activities for children this summer.  The day includes a chance to learn several of the outdoor activities that Turtle Tides operates.  Camp is limited to six kids, ages 6-17. It is a fun-packed day, but campers will also learn about Georgia’s coast and ecosystem. Being on the water that surrounds Jekyll provides a wonderful sense of the beauty our saltwater marshes and animals provide.  You are sure to see many of the area’s birds, such as a brown pelican or an oyster catcher.

Here is your child’s chance to meet other children the same age while learning stand-up paddle boarding, going on a charter fishing trip, and learning to kayak.  Participants will go on a Dolphin Tour with Captain Phillip, where they are likely to see these mammals cruising the waters. Jamie Sanders will supervise participants and transport them from one activity to the next.  If there is a bit of extra time, participants may visit Tidelands Nature Center or spend some time at the beach.

The day camp price includes all gear and equipment. Jekyll Sandpiper parents need only pack a lunch and snacks for their kids. Drop-off and pickup is on the island.  The camp is open to local Jekyll residents and vacationers at the cost of $250 for the first child in a family. Each additional child costs $225.  Camp starts at 7:30 and ends at 5:30.  Turtle Tides offers the day camp each Wednesday in June.
